FactualTV.com is the leading online destination for factual programs and documentaries. We have over thousands of titles (and constantly growing) in our video library.
You simply choose you favourite videos by clicking the “Rent” button in the video window. The video is then placed in the shopping cart. When you have rented the titles of choice they are available for a high quality stream for 24 hours.
You can create an account, in order to buy credits. Or you can simply rent them without any account. A small transaction fee will be added if you choose to make single transactions, while if you buy credits, there will be no additional transaction fee.

Each credit corresponds to €1 or approximately US$1,50 (check up how your local currency relates to Euro here: www.oanda.com).

FactualTV videos are currently only provided in the original language, mostly English. We hope to make subtitles available in major languages in future releases.

The price for renting a documentary for 24 hours depends on a number of factors such as the length, quality and type of video. The price for a typical 50 minute long program is 1,99 credits (equivalent to €2,99 or approximately US$4).
Technical questions
To watch videos at FactualTV at high quality we recommend that you have a broadband connection of at least 1Mbit/s.
Our videos are encoded in Flash for streaming, usually in multi bitrate which detects the speed of connection and presents you with the best possible picture quality.
All streams are of "high-Internet" quality, and should be possible to stream on most broadband connections. Before you rent any documentary, please try to stream our free sample video or any trailer, to make sure the video runs smoothly.
The time it takes until the video starts to play on your computer depends on your actual Internet connection speed.

If you have chosen to purchase a video you first need to download the entire file to your computer before you can start watching. This is due to the need to first install a license for the video file in order to protect it and also to secure that you have received the entire video file.
Yes, just click the link in your confirmation e-mail once you want to start watching on the new computer.
All of your purchased FactualTV videos are stored in "My Page". You can always go there via the confirmation link that was sent to you in the confirmation e-mail.
Yes, you can watch our videos on your TV. To watch FactualTV on your TV you can do this: Connect your computer directly with your TV. The easiest way to connect the computer is via an appropriate video/display cable, such as VGA, DVI, HDMI or s-video.
Please refer to the documentation for your computer hardware for more information about your Machine's capability to interface with a TV. In most cases, connecting your computer to your TV is as simple as using an s-video connection. S-video is a standard 4-pin video connection available on most TVs. S-video only transfers the video image, so you will also need to connect the audio out port on your computer to external speakers or to a home stereo system.

The amount of disk space a FactualTV video takes up on your computer depends on the length of the purchased video. A 30 minute long video takes up about 300 MB and a 60 minute video about 650MB.
